Visit Sarasota County Announces New Executive Committee and Acknowledges Current Committee Members

Visit Sarasota County (VSC) is pleased to announce the appointment of its new Executive Committee Members for FY2024.  This esteemed group of leaders will continue to drive the mission of promoting tourism and cultural attractions in Sarasota County forward.

New Executive Committee

• Richard Russell, General Director, Sarasota Opera- Taking the role of Chairperson, Russell brings his vast experience in Arts & Culture to lead the committee with innovative strategies and a vision for sustainable growth. 
• John LaCivita, President/CEO, Willis Smith Construction – Appointed as Vice Chairperson, LaCivita is recognized for his expertise and commitment to enhancing Sarasota County’s visibility as a premier destination. 
• Tim Self, Senior Vice President Investments, Gulfside Wealth- Serving as Secretary/Treasurer, Self offers his exceptional skills in financial oversight and budget management, ensuring fiscal responsibility and strategic investment. 
• Nick Mavrikas, General Manager, Spark by Hilton – VSC extends its deepest gratitude Past Chairperson to for his leadership. His dedication and vision have laid a strong foundation for future success.

The other members of the Visit Sarasota County 2024 Board of Directors are as follows: Hon. Ron Cutsinger of the Sarasota County Commission; Ann Frescura, Executive Director of the Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce; Mark Gordon, Managing Editor of the Business Observer; Rick Konsavage, Managing Director of The Resort at Longboat Key Club; Kara Morgan, CEO of Venice Main Street; Mike Quillen, President of Gecko’s Hospitality Group; Wes Santos, General Manager of the Hyatt Regency Sarasota and Susie Bowie, President/CEO at The William G. and Marie Selby Foundation.
