Sarasota County Croquet Club to Host 2025 U21 Golf Croquet World Championship

The Sarasota County Croquet Club and the United States Croquet Association, in partnership with Visit Sarasota County, will host the 2025 U21 Golf Croquet World Championship from April 14-18. This rare event, hosted at Venice’s Wellfield Park, will feature the world’s best croquet players under the age of 21 as they compete for five days.
“We are thrilled to welcome these gifted young players from across the globe to our community,” said John Goldener, former Sarasota County Croquet President. “Our hope is that this event will ignite greater interest in croquet among youth, both in Sarasota County and internationally.”
The U21 Golf Croquet World Championship will feature 28 players from around the globe, including six from the United States. Other represented countries will include Egypt, New Zealand, Spain, England, Australia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Mexico, and Latvia. Players in this tournament range in age from 21 years to as young as 11. Additional event partners include Sarasota County Parks & Rec, and the World Croquet Federation.
In addition to the weeklong matches, an opening ceremony will take place on Sunday, April 13th, at 4pm featuring event athletes, partners, and local dignitaries. USCA President Damon Bidencope, USCA Vice President Michael Albert, and Sarasota County Commissioner Joe Neunder will be among the speakers at the opening ceremony. The event is free to the media and the public, and no tickets are required for entry. The full event schedule can be seen as follows:
