Squeaky Wheel Fringe is Making Noise & Louder Than Ever!

Squeaky Wheel Fringe is back June 2nd-7th, 2026 at the Jane B. Cook Theatre located in the FSU Center for the Performing Arts!

Squeaky Wheel Theatre Group is gearing up for its fourth year of Squeaky Wheel Fringe; a six-day, 20+ performance event featuring local and national artists. It provides an inclusive & accepting artistic environment that is unafraid to be loud, push boundaries, and to challenge artists & audiences alike.

What is Fringe Theatre? A performance arts smorgasbord: original, uncensored, accessible to artists & audiences alike, and all of the works are artist driven and produced. The acts feature a diverse group of creators producing a wide range of content from musical theatre, to dance, to spoken-word pieces, and more.

This Year’s Shows Include:

• Casa Havana A Dance Show from Bradenton, Florida: Casa Havana explores family dynamics and thwarted romance. Its mood ranges from sadness to a celebration of Cuban rhythms and community joy!

• The Pep Rally: A "Religious" Variety Show A Multi-Genre show from Sarasota, Florida: Ezra Mathers has come back to his alma mater, his Christian college specifically, and he put that BA to good use. He’s now a “high” achieving, “good” Christian boy. He’s leading the assembly for this year’s Homecoming Pep Rally (Go Lambs! So fierce). Ezra isn’t bitter at all that he didn't get the lead in any shows when he was in school. No, he doesn’t even think about that anymore... he’s only focused on his new production. A traveling show to highlight and ignite (he’s proud of that one) the Holy Spirit in these college students as they face the challenges of avoiding drinking, sex and drugs.

• The One a dance theatre show from Sarasota, Florida: A memoir in motion. One woman sharing her story amongst the multiple art forms that have always had her back. Weaving together dance, music, audio recordings, video, writing, like a blanket of life.

• It's Alive! LIVE an improv show from Orlando, Florida: Late Night TV is back from the dead in this series of improvised interviews with myth's most monstrous anomalies.

• Confessions of A Theme Park Worker a one-woman show from Longwood, Florida: Making its Sarasota debut, Confessions of a Theme Park Worker, is a true telling of how a native Floridian worked most theme parks and spills the dirt on each of them!

• My Life as an "Inspirational Porn" Star a one-woman show from St. Petersburg, Florida: My Life as an "Inspirational Porn" Star is an irreverent one-woman comedy about an inspirational porn star , Gabrielle Leonore's life story filled with anecdotes of sex, drugs, and everything else nobody prepares you for --especially as an autistic woman.

• Timey Wimey Stuff: The Mid Life Crisis of a Time Traveling Space Archaeologist a one-person show from Chicago, IL: Victoria Montalbano deals with her problems like most struggling actors: escaping reality into the world of Doctor Who. When she finds a skin abnormality during a global pandemic, she has to face a monster scarier than any Dalek…Middle Age. Timey Wimey Stuff is a one-person-show that asks the hard hitting questions: "Does donating plasma count as a day job?", "If I had a time machine, would I use it to help people, or just make out with hot bad guys?", and finally, "What is the legacy of a middle aged struggling actor?"

• Grease is the Word a theatre piece from Lake Bluff, IL: Decades after a Gen-Xer misses her chance to play Rizzo in Grease, her adult daughter hopelessly devotes herself to staging a fake show so her aged Mom can finally shine.

• The Common Ground a theatre piece from Wood Ridge, NJ: Set in a suburban coffee shop, The Common Ground follows a young woman grappling with an earth-shattering loss as she struggles to rebuild her life and find a path toward a fulfilling future. Through quiet moments of grief and connection, The Common Ground explores the strength it takes to move forward one step, one cup of coffee at a time.

What makes Squeaky Wheel Fringe different? It’s all about artist advocacy and support. 100% of the base ticket price for each show goes back to the artist to help support them in doing what they do best…Create! We believe that one of the best ways to support the arts is by supporting the artist and giving a home to unique, wild, and wonderful original works!

The Fringe umbrella spans many styles, so some shows may have an age-limit, and content warnings will be clearly posted as needed.
