95th Annual Sarasota Tarpon Tournament

Entering the “World’s Oldest Tarpon Tournament”, we are looking forward to another great season in 2025, this year celebrating 95 years. Fishing will begin May 10th - June 15th.

Kick-Off Event will once again be held at Joyland, 8341 Lockwood Ridge Road, in Sarasota on Tuesday, May 6th. For an Entry Fee of just $150, anglers not only compete for an overall winner title, but also, weekly, junior, ladies, fly, most releases, and His & Her Divisions winner.

Our Awards banquet will be held July 10th at Gold Coast Eagle Distributing.

Weekly winners and winners of the fly division and most releases will all compete in the Fish-Off to determine the overall winner whose name is inscribed on the historic trophy. FISH OFF June 21st, with the first weather date the 22nd. If for some reason neither of these dates work, the alt-weekend is June 28th.

This is a five week tournament; you can sign up anytime online during the tournament.
Weeks work by first week starting 5/10 at 6am to 5/17 12am followed by week two starting 5/18-5/24
Week three 5/25-5/31
Week four 6/1-6/7
Week five 6/8-6/15

Tarpon are world-class game fish and are easy to access directly off Sarasota’s beautiful beaches. Described as one of the most exciting fish to catch, tarpon are known for spectacular leaps and determined fights.

Great way to make new friends, have some fun, and test your angling skills. Plus an amazing way to support our community with all the proceeds going to local charities such as Suncoast Charities for Children, the Coastal Conservation Association of Florida and the Dennis V. Cooper foundation wishes for heroes.
