Gabriel Garcia was born and raised in Sarasota, and proud of his native  roots. Growing up around the restaurant business, he was always  surrounded by it. He decided to pursue the back of the house at  Johnson & Wales, Providence, RI., where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Culinary Arts. After working in Boston, Miami, and Malaga Spain, he returned to Sarasota to take over the family restaurant, Miguel’s on Siesta Key. He partnered with his brother Dan Garcia and is 
currently the Chef/Owner allowing his father to step back and enjoy his deserved retirement. Gabriel is currently pursuing his master’s degree in hospitality management at the University of South Florida, and several wine certifications. Wine is his second passion and is currently a Certified Sommelier through court Masters of America, with aspirations to achieve the next level of Advanced. He is also a diploma candidate through Wset, with ambitions of achieve his Dipwset.
