Formally known as Pineapple Park this park was recently dedicated and named in honor of “Mr. Downtown”, Paul Thorpe, Jr. in 2017. Home to Smithsonian-registered Mermaid Fountain. Provides bench seating. In recognition of the significant contribution to the beauty of the Sarasota area, Paul Thorpe, Jr. Park was awarded the 2018 Civic Beautification Award, for Outstanding Landscaping, by the Sarasota Garden Club in February 2019. Owned and operated by the City of Sarasota Parks & Recreation District.
