Beach Sports

Covering over 35 miles of coastline along the Gulf of Mexico, Sarasota County is comprised of multiple barrier islands. 

These islands feature a variety of public beaches, each containing numerous amenities for recreational use. One of the most decorated beaches in Sarasota is Siesta Beach. Dubbed the No.1 Beach in the USA by TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice (2015, 2017, 2020) and Dr. Beach (2011, 2017), Siesta Beach is the largest beach in Sarasota County and one of the widest beaches in the nation. The beach features two pavilions, two concession stands and multiple public restrooms facilities. The beach accommodates up to 40 beach volleyball courts.
